TripleSpot is a new app focused on sharing real world experiences around physical locations. The app was part of a larger business strategy created for AAA focused on driving Millennial engagement with their company and brand. Launching TripleSpot involved research, envisioning, concept development, analysis, business strategy, organizational change, naming and brand development, UI design and product development.

A concept video for Hearst App Lab, focused on two magazines, Seventeen and Marie Claire. The project involved brainstorming directly with the Editor-in-Chief of each magazine, then concepting, designing and directing two 3 minute videos. The videos were used to communicate to advertisers and Hearst's executive team. I ran the brainstorms, wrote the script, storyboarded the videos and was half of the design team, furiously making fictitious UI for 2 Futuristic iPad magazines.

A rebrand of Aol's popular messaging service. The AIM logo had been co-opted by the parent brand and it's equity severely diluted. In this program we updated the logo, bringing it from the age of dial-up into the age of social networks. The project involved extensive type studies as we tried to create a simple, friendly wordmark that could hold it's own against the competitive set, as well as icon treatments that could replace the outdated "running man" logo.

Extremely rapid UX and UI for a Proof-of-Concept used to sell the FitStar Concept (fitstar.com) to the investors and agents of top fitness stars. I also developed the name and brand identity for the company. FitStar is currently the #1 Fitness App on the iPad and just launched it's iPhone App in January 2014 (just in time for all those resolutions).

A re-envisioning of the Harvard Business Review's design and structure, retaining the quality of the content while restructuring the format and lay-out to make the magazine more accessible to it's rapidly changing audience. Many of the core ideas from this concept project made it into the 2009 re-design of the magazine.

Work samples from a rebranding and experience design project for Crowne Plaza, an Intercontinental hotel. The project began with a discovery and customer journey mapping and continued into a rethinking of the entire guest experience. And then the recession hit, casting doom upon the project.

Product Strategy, Naming and Brand Identity development for the Zarafina Tea System for Sunbeam. Zarafina was the first stand-alone brand created for Sunbeam in 10 years. The product was created to take advantage of spiking trends in tea consumption while leveraging Sunbeam's deep expertise in brewing technology. Zarafina pushed Sunbeam into a new price bracket and they needed an inspiring, aspirational brand to help them get there. Within a year of launching the Zarafina Tea System found itself on the shelves of William Sonoma and Sur la Table, helping Sunbeam to expand into new environments and new pricepoints.

Drawing is a central part of my process. I draw to think, to explore, to reframe problems and find solutions. It takes the forms of storyboards and concept sketches, wireframes and flows, diagrams and brand identity.
